The Erlöserkirche (Church of the Redeemer)
This church was built between 1885 and 1886 in Neo-Gothic style by the Leipzig-based architect August Hartel, who went on to become the master architect of Strasbourg Cathedral. The chancel was redesigned in 1965. The church interior contains a number of highlights, for example three reliefs, reproductions of works by the famous artist Adam Krafft, two paintings (of Luther and Melanchthon) by the Traunstein-based painter von Kotzebue and, since 1999, an abstract Stations of the Cross by the Munich-based artist Petra Winterkamp. The parish garden hosts changing art exhibitions.
