Church of St. Joseph

The Spitalkirche St. Joseph (Hospital Church of St. Joseph)

The Hospital Church of St. Joseph was built in 1618/1619 by the burgher Simon Peer (for the Bürgerspitalstiftung foundation). The church burnt down in 1641 but was rebuilt by Andreas Peer, the founder’s son. In the mid-18th century, it was refurbished and welcomed elements such as its Baroque altar, Rococo pulpit and paintings depicting the life of Saint Joseph by the Rosenheim painter Joseph Anton Höttinger.
