A pleasant arrival...

The Tourist Information Centre (Touristinfo, Hammerweg 1, 83022 Rosenheim) is a very convenient starting point for your visit to Rosenheim.

It is a ten-minute walk away from the train station. If you come by car, you can park directly in the P1 multi-storey car park, while cyclists can park their bikes right next to the centre and charge their e-bikes while they browse.

Have a good breakfast to start the day

After stocking up on informative material, it’s time to kick off your day in Rosenheim with a delicious breakfast.

You will find numerous opportunities to do so, for example in the city’s prestigious and popular Max-Josefs-Platz square.

Or how about treating yourself to a traditional Bavarian Weißwurst sausage directly at the Grüner Markt (Green Market) in the Ludwigsplatz square?

Shop and explore

After a hearty breakfast, it’s a good idea to stretch your legs a little and explore the sights of Rosenheim, starting at Max-Josefs-Platz.

Guided city tour

Every Friday at 3 pm from April to October, you can also get to know the city in the hands of an expert on the guided tour “At the Heart of the Old City Centre”.

We generally offer a wide range of themed city tours. From the “Night Watchman Tour” to the “Sweet Treats Tour”, there is something to suit every taste.

Shopping & strolling

If you choose to explore Rosenheim on your own instead, you can wonderfully combine your journey of discovery with occasional detours to a shop or two (or three!) to buy a few souvenirs for your friends and loved ones back home.

Rosenheim’s unofficial shopping boulevard is Münchener Straße, but you will also find many shops and boutiques on Max-Josefs-Platz and throughout the entire city.

Lunchtime

Time to refuel...

To recharge your batteries after your shopping and exploration tour, we suggest treating yourself to lunch in a typical Bavarian beer garden.

Sit in the shade of ancient trees and enjoy a cool beer and Bavarian delicacies. Rosenheim even has its very own beer brewed right here in the city.

The local breweries Flötzinger and Auer offer you the opportunity to taste excellent regional beer.

Afternoon

Quench your thirst for knowledge…

The cultural heart of the city of Rosenheim beats in the Lokschuppen (engine shed) exhibition centre. With up to 280,000 visitors, the centre is now one of the most successful exhibition halls in Europe.From 17 March to 10 December 2023, the exhibition “Vulkane” (Volcanoes) will quench visitors’ thirst for knowledge.

An exhibition that leaves no one cold!

Face to face with the "big ones" of the last ice age: mammoths weighing tons, dangerous cave lions and woolly rhinos roam the European landscape.

Accompany your ancestors through an Ice Age year. Close to the elements, in harmony with nature.

The exhibition ICE AGE offers you a 1,500 m² total work of art consisting of original finds, high-quality animal reconstructions, taxidermies, replicas and impressive skeletons. An absolute highlight is the unique Ice Age skeleton of the "Neuessing Man": it is presented for the first time together with spectacular latest research results. From the Ice Age to the Hot Age? Changes in living conditions on Earth are not happening for the first time in its history. The final part of the exhibition deals with questions, facts and consequences of the current climate change.

Take time out

After a rather busy day so far, maybe a little time out would be a good idea.

If you’re looking for somewhere to relax, take a deep breath and enjoy nature, the Mangfallpark in Rosenheim is the perfect haven.

Located just a short walk away from the old town, the park stretches approximately 1.5 kilometres along the river in the grounds of the former Bavarian State Garden Show 2010.

The Mangfallpark is a recreational paradise for locals and tourists alike, located at the heart of the city.
